YOGA

Find the place where strength is steady but not rigid, and ease is soft but not collapsing — this is the dance of Sthira and Sukha.

We practice to become more present, more diligent, and more at peace within ourselves. Yoga offers a sacred space to explore who we are — what a gift it is to turn inward and truly listen.

Through asana (movement and postures), pranayama (breathwork), and deep inner awareness, we begin to connect with the wisdom that already lives within us. This ancient practice weaves these elements together to cultivate a sense of unity, balance, and wholeness.

At its core, yoga emphasises the breath — nourishing the respiratory and circulatory systems while calming the nervous system. Beyond its foundational benefits, yoga has been widely studied for its ability to support those experiencing stress, illness, or imbalance. It provides the body with essential tools to heal, strengthen, and function at its highest potential.

Our classes incorporate a variety of yoga styles, each offering a unique experience and feeling within the body. Read below to discover which style best supports you on your journey.

YIN

Yin Yoga is targets the deep connective tissues, fascia, ligaments, and joints—rather than muscles. Postures are typically held for 3 to 5 minutes or longer, allowing the body to gradually release tension and open up with gentle, sustained pressure. This practice emphasises stillness and surrender, making it a deeply introspective and calming experience. It balances the more active (yang) styles of yoga and life by encouraging patience, mindfulness, and inner quiet. Yin is often practised seated or lying down, with the support of props like bolsters and blankets to help the body relax fully.

*Yin often gets mistaken for restorative yoga and must be highlighted as sometimes being a challenging class. The challenge of sitting in the postures in stillness brings great rewards.

VINYASA

Vinyasa in yoga refers to a style of movement that links breath with a continuous flow of postures. The word vinyasa means "to place in a special way," and in practice, it’s often described as a “moving meditation.” Our teachers all have different styles of teaching vinyasas and will offer modifications throughout the class. Expect lots of postures, moving from the ground to standing at a pace.

HATHA

Hatha Yoga is a steady and grounding practice that brings balance to both body and mind. Rooted in traditional yogic teachings, this class weaves together asana (postures), pranayama (breathwork), and mindful awareness to create a strong, stable foundation.

With a slower pace and intentional transitions, Hatha allows space to refine alignment, build strength, and cultivate flexibility — while staying deeply connected to the breath. Each posture is held with steadiness and ease, inviting the balance of effort and softness.
